Helen and Colin David work both together and separately as artists.

Thematic concerns in their work include a fascination with the concept of identity, particularly with regards to patriotism and self-sacrifice, an investigation into the status of women in different cultures, and a concern with the mythology, folklore and rituals surrounding creation, death and rebirth.

The choice of media for their practice varies according to the concept they are exploring. To date they have used drawing, photography, silkscreen printing on paper and textiles, digital printing, painting on paper and canvas, collage, embroidery on vintage textiles, laser cutting, film, ceramics and sculpture with flocked antlers.
